Project Lead the Way - IED Portfolio
About Me
My name is Jamie Graham, and I'm currently a senior at South Western High School. I plan on going to college for the next 4 years in order to pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering, but I'm uncertain as to which school that will be. In school, I regularly challenge myself with rigorous and demanding courses, including the one this portfolio is for. Outside of school, I am involved in a variety of different activities. I have been running Varsity Cross Country in the fall since 9th grade, and have earned multiple Varsity Letters and trips to the District III Meet. Additionally, I have been involved in TSA since 7th grade, and I have placed top 10 in multiple events at the PATSA State Conference and 6th in Chapter Team Written at the 2017 National TSA Conference in Orlando. Furthermore, I have been involved in the SWHS Student Council since 11th grade, helping to plan, construct, and execute major school events like Homecoming and Mini-THON. Finally, I have played the violin for our school's Symphony and audition-only Chamber Orchestras since 9th grade.

The Course
Project Lead the Way - Intro to Engineering is an college-level introductory course offered throughout the United States. The curriculum studied in the classroom was developed and improved on by thousands of high school teachers and college professors across the nation, and is sponsored by esteemed universities such as Bucknell and Purdue. Offered as a Practical Art in South Western High School, this course is perfect for anyone who believes they may have even the slightest interest in Engineering. IED goes through all basic aspects of being an engineer, from working well in teams to using design software, and it has only solidified my resolve to become an one myself.
